I decided at a very young age that I wanted to be involved in my fathers jewellery business; A shop he’d had for many years before I became his ‘Saturday girl’…..
But I wasn’t content in just selling the jewellery. I wanted to be behind the scenes; creating and making the bespoke jewellery pieces that my dad would sell in his shop.
So when I turned 16, I left school and had the opportunity of an apprenticeship with my fathers goldsmith he had at the time. He was a very reputable designer, and very skilled. It was my ambition to be as good as him!
I started my 5year apprenticeship and attended the ‘Birmingham School of Jewellery’ on a day release where I obtained my ‘City and Guilds’…..
……5 long hard years later I was no longer training to be a Goldsmith…. I had officially become one!!
